Bush Nursing Centres are not for profit, non-government organisations that provide a variety of nursing services to their surrounding communities; from general health care, assessments and treatment of minor injuries to emergency care, mental health, palliative care and more. These Bush Nursing Centres can provide 24 hour on-call accident and emergency services and a wide range of allied health care professionals.
These centres rely heavily on the funding support and membership from their local communities to run. Being remote, they are often the first responders to critical incidents and are being called upon more to support with mental health first aid after significant challenges in the region over the last 3-5 years.
